For de Volkskrant, I created a Saturday cover illustration for their summer series; the world in weather.

I was assigned the colour red, which immediately made me think of something that's becoming impossible to ignore: global warming, and how so many of us are still in denial about it. The illustration is about looking away while continuing to consume and build, while a huge burning sun looms above us.
